My author career started out like most—with crushingly epic failure over and over again.

My first book was originally published by a small publisher. I was so thrilled that a publisher wanted to sign my book that I didn’t bother looking into their business methods. My book sold maybe a dozen copies. And when the publisher did a reprint, THEY SPELLED MY NAME WRONG ON THE COVER!

That was when I knew I had to get out. I demanded the rights back to my book, had an awesome cover designed for it, and self-published it.

That was in 2017. I tried out just about every promo service I could find, and wasted thousands of dollars getting nowhere. I published the second book in the series, then the third, and the series just didn’t do well.

I found Rebecca Hamilton’s marketing group at the end of that year, tried out some of her services and FINALLY saw sales! I talked to some of the authors in that group and learned some tricks with Facebook ads and newsletter building, and things started getting better, although my cpc was never higher than $0.50, but I didn’t know any better.

It wasn’t until I joined a boxset promotion in beginning 2018 run by Rebecca Hamilton that I learned her techniques directly from her, and everything totally changed.

I released new books and they hit the top 1000 right away every single time!

She hosted an auction for a year’s worth of marketing help in October 2018, and I did whatever it took to bid my way in because I had an ambitious goal for 2019—to hit the USA Today Bestseller list with my Shifter Academy series.

Rebecca walked me through the entire process, and because of her, not only did Shifted make the list, but I’ve made well over quadruple my investment so far this year.

I’m now a common name in YA paranormal romance, and beginning authors actually come to ME for advice! And you know what I tell them?
